El Servicio Especializado de Atención a Víctimas de Violencia de Género del Cabildo de Fuerteventura ha recibido un reconocimiento por parte de la Guardia Civil de Fuerteventura, por su incansable labor como servicio multidisciplinar para atender a las mujeres y menores que son víctimas de esta lacra social. El reconocimiento fue entregado durante los actos conmemorativos en Honor a la Virgen del Pilar del 12 de octubre, en Caleta de Fuste.
Desde el año 2009, este servicio se desarrolla de manera itinerante, desplazándose sus profesionales para prestar atención integral en todos los municipios de la Isla, desde la orientación y el asesoramiento, hasta la intervención, el apoyo y el seguimiento desde los ámbitos social, jurídico, psicológico y laboral, con el objetivo de promover la autonomía personal y facilitar su recuperación e integración social y familiar.
El recurso cuenta también con un Programa de Prevención en Violencia de Género con numerosas acciones formativas y de sensibilización, llegando a más de mil personas al año. Actualmente, se desarrollan acciones como ‘Mangaventura en Igualdad’ con unos 600 estudiantes de secundaria y el taller de escritura y autoconocimiento ‘Tener una voz’, dirigido a mujeres víctimas de violencia de género.
